After much labor and lobbying, there is now an adaptive category for track and field in the state of Michigan through the Michigan High School Athletic Association. In order for kids to participate on their school team, however, they need equipment. And that equipment is expensive, and extremely hard to get. It takes months and literal thousands of dollars to order a new racing wheelchair. ELK purchased a used racing chair last summer, in anticipation of the MHSAA's change, and then worked to repair it to racing caliber over the past months. Then we found the perfect kid, just itching to go as fast as he could around a race track... and let 'er rip. GO JIMMY! Making history in the state of Michigan!!
